An extremely rare and highly desired account of travel observations in North India, with striking photos including those of the Taj Mahal, Golden Temple and monuments in Lahore, Lucknow etc. This remarkable firsthand account contains unfaded carbon prints, possibly of photos taken by the author herself (unconfirmed). The author reflects on how Agra is the city she would most likely choose to live in and why Delhi and Punjab provinces are important in historical context.
First edition, 12 large carbon photographs mounted within decorative borders; the hardcover book is in the publisher’s original green cloth gilt, bevelled edges, gilt edges.
Condition– internally clean and unmarked, light spotting on outer edges of two pages, not affecting the photos, minor cloth defects in the extremities of the spine, foxing on the half-title page and immediately preceding page; a beautiful, sound copy of what is a true collector’s item.
