Provenance: George Augustus Frederick Henry Bridgeman (1789-1865), his bookplate.

The volume contains descriptions of the plates to the four series of Views in Hindoostan, dated 1795, 1797, 1801, and 1807, as well as descriptions for the Antiquities of India (1800) and Hindoo Excavations in the Mountain of Ellora, near Aurungabad, in the Decan (1804). The complete set of text volumes to accompany the series of fine hand-colored aquatint views by Thomas and William Daniell, described by Tooley as ‘the finest illustrated work ever published on India’.
