The Royal Crown: Because British law forbade the Crown Jewels from leaving England, a special Imperial Crown of India was crafted for King George V. Major Announcements: The King announced the moving of the capital of British India from Calcutta to Delhi, establishing the groundwork for Lutyens’ Delhi. He also annulled the controversial Partition of Bengal.
