An early (First Edition thus, c.1940) edition of some of the finest paintings of legendary painter Abdur Rahman Chughtai of Pakistan.

There are a total of thirty-nine plates in all – thirty-four plates in colors, the rest in monochromes. Foreword by Dr. James H. Cousins/ Introduction and critical annotations by Mrs. Razia Siraj-ud-Din.br.Lahore (India): Jahangir Book Club, Chabuk Sawaran. The description of each plate is present at the bottom of the preceding tissue-guard.

Bound in original black buckram with a black and white line drawing and the title-ticket pasted on cover. Size: 12x 10 inches.

Abdur Rahman Chughtai was a painter, artist, and intellectual from Pakistan, who created his own unique, distinctive painting style influenced by Mughal art, miniature painting, Art Nouveau and Islamic art traditions.

Condition: A very good copy overall with stunning clean prints, the front cover is slightly discoloured with a few pinholes. A collector’s edition.
