Pemberton was invited to supervise the editing of the third edition of Principia Mathematica, which appeared in 1726.

The work is illustrated with several fold-out diagrams explaining key scientific principles, including Newton’s celestial mechanics plans showing the orbits of the six known planets around the sun.
